Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also a season of change. Your body has carried, birthed, and nurtured life. Now it deserves care, restoration, and gentle strength. At Pilates Locale, we believe movement should be a gift, not just another task. Our Mummy & Me Pilates program in Coorparoo is for Brisbane mums wanting to reconnect with their bodies, bond with their babies, and find a supportive, home-like community.

Why is Postnatal Pilates Important

After pregnancy, many mums notice changes in posture, core strength, and pelvic floor function. These shifts are natural. Without mindful recovery, they can cause discomfort or less confidence in movement.
 
Pilates offers a safe, evidence‑based way to rebuild:
 
  • Core stability: Gentle exercises retrain deep abdominal muscles, supporting your spine and posture.
  • Pelvic floor awareness: Breathwork and controlled movement help restore function and prevent long‑term issues.
  • Mobility and alignment: Targeted stretches ease tension from feeding, carrying, and sleepless nights.
  • Each class rebuilds confidence in daily movement, from lifting your baby to walking with the pram.
 
This isn’t about “getting your body back.” It’s about honoring the incredible changes you’ve been through and moving forward with strength and grace.

Inside the Mummy and Me Program

Our six‑week program is carefully structured to meet you where you are:
 
  • Duration: 6 weeks, Wednesdays at 10:30am
  • Session length: 40 minutes. Fits your day but makes a difference.
  • Baby age: 6 weeks to pre‑walking (~12 months)
  • Location: Pilates Locale Studio, Eva Street, Coorparoo
  • Group size: Maximum 10 mums, ensuring personalized attention
  • Extras: Coffee catch‑ups and a luxe tote bag with your first class
 
Program progression:
  • Weeks 1–2: Breath, core, pelvic floor reconnection
  • Weeks 3–4: Controlled strength and stability
  • Weeks 5–6: Confidence, ease, and flow
 
All classes are led by experienced instructors who understand postnatal needs. Move at your own pace, with modifications at every stage.

More Than Movement: A Space for You and Your Baby

Leaving your baby can be daunting. Here, your baby is always welcome. Feed, change, or settle as needed, no judgment or pressure. Pram parking is inside, and the studio is baby-friendly throughout.
 
After class, join other mums for coffee next door. These catch-ups build friendships and let you share stories and tips. Recovery is both physical and emotional.
